Marlies Casier, international policy advisor with Sensoa International is leaving the Sensoa team. As of September she will start a new job as a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University. Marlies worked for Sensoa for over a decade.
Marlies: “I look back at the past 12 years with enormous gratitude. It has been a great pleasure to work with so many dedicated and passionate SRHR experts and activists, to defend the rights and freedoms we hold dear, and to push for these human rights to be recognized, expanded and realized. I have learned so much from my colleagues at Sensoa, Countdown 2030 Europe, IPPF, Be-cause Health, and the broader Belgian civil society in their day to day actions to advance human rights. I will take those insights with me as I move on and into the study of refugee rights and citizens’ solidarity initiatives. I have also experienced so much trust, love and care for one another within this community. May you cherish and nurture this culture for the years to come. It is beautiful.”
Marlies will be replaced by Sara Salarkiya. Sara holds a master in gender and diversity and African languages and cultures. She is a feminist, with a particular interest in superdiversity, sexuality, gender equality, LGBTQIA+ rights and equal opportunities. Sara will start at Sensoa mid-August.
