Breaking Down Language Barriers: Talking about Sex and Sexual Health with Non-native Speakers
Discussing sexual health is never an easy topic, and the challenge becomes even greater when your conversation partner is a non-native speaker. To overcome this obstacle, Sensoa developed Zanzu, a tool that removes language barriers while respecting cultural diversity.
On the website the professional can look up several topics related to sexual health and see explanations in both their own language and that of the non-native speaker. They can also let the website read the text out loud. This makes it possible to communicate about sexual health and make referels, without the need for a translator.
Inspired by Sensoa, Norway’s Sex Og Politikk has developed its own Zanzu and shared their experiences with its implementation.

Facilitating Discussions on Sexual Health with Healthcare Professionals
Sexuality is an integral part of overall health, and patients expect their healthcare providers to initiate conversations about their sexual well-being. However, addressing topics such as sex and relationships with patients can be daunting. That's where Sensoa’s One to One method comes in. This tool assists healthcare professionals in conducting discussions about sexual health in four simple steps. These steps build upon existing skills of the healthcare professional and are accompanied by concrete examples from medical practice.
In recent years Norway has focussed on elderly people and their needs when talking to healthcare professionals. While the "One to one" method applies to the general population cultural and communication barriers might be even more pronounced when talking to elderly people about sex. Sensoa now has a good go-to if it wants to include more specific suggestions on how to address the needs of the the 60+ population.

Identifying Sexual Boundary Violations: Assessing and Responding to Inappropriate Behavior
Wherever people live, play, or work together, the issue of boundaries arises. When does sexual behavior cross the line, and how do you address it with those involved, parents, or colleagues? These questions arise in Norway just as they do in Belgium.
Sensoa shared its experience with implementing the Sensoa Flag System, a methodology that aims to provides answers to these questions. Through six objective criteria, you can assess when boundaries are being crossed and learn step by step how to respond in an educational manner. The Sensoa Flag System is also available as a free online course. It will be interesting to see what impact a free e-learning course has on the usage of the system. The Sensoa Flag Fystem was new to the Norwegian delegation. Since its launch it has been adopted in different countries. Maybe we will also see a Norwegian version one day.
